Tight weave linens

A tightly woven linen or linen-blend is naturally resistant to pet hair. Look for a weight of 350gsm or above for the best durability.

Avoid loose weaves and bouclé

Open-weave fabrics and boucle are beautiful but impractical with pets. Claws catch in the loops and hair embeds deeply into the texture.

Mid-tones are the most forgiving

Very light and very dark colours show pet hair most clearly. Mid-tones — sage green, taupe, warm grey — are the most practical.
